Glasgow School of Folk was set up in 2019 by John Somerville, Laura-Beth Salter, Calum MacCrimmon and Adam Sutherland. The first event, held in July 2019 was a great success, and we are excited to announce 2020’s adult summer school will be taking place between the 12th and 16th of July with improved venues, an extra days tuition and new classes. We are all full time performers and music tutors based in Glasgow, travelling all over the place to gig and teach, so we thought we would bring you to us! Glasgow is full to the brim of fantastic musicians, and the folk music scene here is one of the most vibrant in the country. It is a great city to get inspired and creative……and we have good pubs too!
We hope that this will become a yearly event for adult learners to come together, play music, learn new skills, session, ceilidh, gain new repertoire, hear some new music and have a good time.
